Complete Control with Style

Strengths: Stylish, compact, volume control, under the ear, good sound quality.

Weakness: Limited incoming volume control, mic volume control difficult to quickly switch, attaching to your ear and wearing may take getting used to.

This under the ear design is stylish, compact, and has overall good volume control and sound quality. Highly recommended.

This headset lightly clips between the inside and back side of your ear. A small speaker piece fitting within your ear serves as one side of the clip. The speaker can be rotated 180 degrees allowing the unit to be worn on either ear. Attaching the headset to your ear takes a little getting used to as does the feel. The weight of the cord along with the headset itself does create some pull on ones ear. This can be largely alleviated by clipping the cord to your shirt, thus removing the weight of the cord. Overall it is very comfortable. Once you get used to it, you hardly know you're wearing it.

The unit comes with two booms of different lengths allowing one to optimize the placement of the mic pickup. The boom once inserted in the unit's socket can be rotated in any direction a few degrees for proper placement.

Incoming volume is control primarily through a rotary dial. This allows one to decrease the volume up to a point. In all but a very few cases this has been satisfactory. In the few cases where a further volume decrease has been desired, it was achieved by slightly rotating the speaker sitting within the ear outward (away from the ear canal).

The mic mute switch works well. Others on the line seemed unaware that it was being switched on or off while they were speaking. A small window within the in-line control unit indicates with red and green if the mic is off or on.

The out going volume has two settings and requires a pen or other similarly pointed object to change.

The wind noise reduction technology appears to function as advertised.

Overall this is a top notch design.

Plantronics MX500C

Strengths: Everyone I talk to seems to hear me clearly.

Weakness: There is some tunnel sound because of the boom tube mike but this appears to be only audiable on my end.

This model does the job pretty good. I have not had anyone with whom I was talking take note of any differences when I was using the headset instead of a conventional phone hand set.

Plantronics MX500-C Headset

Strengths: Very compact and lightweight. Comfortable to wear for long periods of time. Good audio quality.

Weakness: Volume, Mute control on cord is large and bulky.

I purchased this plantronics headset because I was tired of using the generic plastic $10 headsets with the single padded earpiece and the uncomfortable headband. This headset is a huge improvement over those cheaper versions. It is so lightweight and comfortable that you forget that you are wearing it. The under the ear design is strange at first, but it stays securely in place. The headset comes with two microphone booms, a short one and a long one. The microphone boom is fully adjustable for angle and works very well. People who I talk to can't even tell that I am using a headset. I highly recommend this headset for anyone who spends a lot of time talking on a cordless phone.

Plantronics MX500-C, Great Headset

Strengths: Headset fits comfortably, works on a phone that was not on the list of compatible phones, and offers clear audio to both me, the wearer, as well as to the party I am speaking to.

Weakness: None noted as yet.

This product does all that the product description says it will. I was concerned that it might not work on the phone tha I have in my office as the brand was not listed among those that are compatible with the MX-500-C, however, it works just fine.

I only have one day of experience with this headset, but was so excited about it's performance that I wanted to note it right away. Should I later find any deficiencies, I will comment in a later review.

Hi quality, well built w/ minor flaw

Strengths: High build quality and voice and earpiece sound

Weakness: No adjustment for ear comfort.

Very satisfied with sound quality for both myself and caller. Build quality not like a commercial unit, but way above the free (or cheap) stuff that's out there. Unfortunately, the way the unit 'clips' onto the bottom of your ear, it has to be on a little on the tight side to stay put. It's not uncomfortable at first, but at about an hour, it starts annoying me enough to be distracting. It's also a little awkward to get on, but I've only been using it for about a week. The comfort thing and awkwardness would not stop me from using this or ordering another one. The quality:price ratio cannot be beat. I've used a number of wired earpieces and this one is tops.

An excellent headset.

Strengths: Crystal clear sound

Weakness: Color, wired.

This headset has crystal clear sound. Even when I'm walking down the street in windy Chicago. It has made talking on the cell phone much easier. The sound is clearer than on my cell phone speaker.

Downsides: It's not wireless. The color leaves something to be desired. It would better if it came in black.

Very good headset for home and on the road

Strengths: Light weight, comfortable, good sound

Weakness: Need to get use to it at first

Always a fan of Plantronics headset. Great quality with reasonable price. One may have to pay a little bit more, but it last much longer and sound is superb. Very comfortable once you get used to wearing it. I got a feeling that it may fall off my ear. But in fact, it won't if one wears it correctly. Very light weight and comfortable so I could wear it all day long.

Works Good and is Comfortable

Strengths: Comfortable, Under the ear design so it doesn't interfere with eye glasses, Comes with 2 different length mic booms.

Weakness: Control for input and output volume, and mute switch is really pretty flimsey.

All i have to add to the pros and cons is that Plantronics should be ashamed of the cheap control switch they put on this otherwise good product.
But the sound is good and people on the other end can't tell i'm using a headset.

The best that I have found

Strengths: Excellent sound, excellent microphone, comfort, can be put on with one hand, works equally well with cordless or cell.

Weakness: Not highly durable.

I love this headset- the only one that I have found that approaches the sound quality (microphone) of not using one at all. Comfortable, only requires one hand to put on (with a little practice), and works equally well with cordless or cell phones. I have never bothered to go bluetooth because of this little gem. Inline controls and a second pickup tube. A bargain. I am buying two this time, one for home and one for the car.

Plantronics MX500C Review

Strengths: - Excellent microphone clarity - Good microphone volume - Fits snugly in the ear

Weakness: None yet.

I recently bought the Plantronics MX 500C headset to use with my Uniden cordless phone. I've used a different Plantronics headset with my cell phone for the last couple of years, and been very happy with it. However, the microphone on my old headset was far too quiet when used with my cordless phone, so the people on the other end of the line couldn't hear me.

The MX500C doesn't have this problem. In fact, my callers tell me that I sound better over the headset than I do when I just use my cordless phone's handset by itself. The headset fits snugly in my ear, and I've worn it comfortably for two or three hours at a time.

All in all, it's a great headset. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a headset to use with their cordless phone.

Great headset!

Strengths: Works great, so far nobody ever asked me wether I'm on a headset. I very much like the volume control.

Weakness: None so far.

In the last 2 years I have tried at least 10 different headset for my cordless phone and returned them all due to their poor quality. This headset is just great! In the beginning it seemed to be a little difficult to put the headset onto the ear and get it adjusted, but now I really love it - it's so easy on the ear. I can absolutely recommend this headset. Great buy for the money!

Very nice product

Strengths: Ease of use and ergonomic

Weakness: None so far

Item is very comfortable to wear, very ergonomic, and lightweight. The sound clarity is very crisp and sharp. I use this headset for several hours straight daily and will definitely purchase another one for my bedroom.
